December Due Date – How to prepare for a Christmas Baby
Christmas Day is approaching and you’re expecting to have a baby during the holiday season. You already know that Christmas can be a busy time. You can even get “snowed under” by seasonal demands. Visiting relatives, decorating the home, buying gifts, preparing food, and dealing with family members that want to throw a wobbler. It’s enough to make anyone go completely mad. However, if you’re prepared, you can have an outstanding holiday despite your pregnancy. Here are some important tips to help you relax during the holiday season whilst you’re expecting your newborn baby.
Organise your Christmas in advance…
Do things in advance so you will not be swamped during the holiday season. No pregnant mum should try and overextend herself running about. Plan ahead to make things easy. How do you plan in advance? Start by figuring out how you want your Christmas celebration to go. Make a list of the things you want to do. Figure out who you want to visit or to visit you. Maybe you want your parents with you on this special day. If you fancy pantomime’s, think about the ones you want to see. If you want to make Christmas Cake and mince pies, plan on when you want to make these delicious foods. The more you organise, the smoother your holiday will be.
Make your Gift List and Shop Early…
Gifts are at the heart of the Christmas season. Everyone wants a special present that makes them happy. Get your gifts early to save time and worry. No pregnant woman should be fussing about during the holidays trying to buy things. If you know your little babber will arrive sometime in December, don’t visit the markets during this time. Stay home and take it easy. Just make sure to get your Christmas gifts early. Make your gift list early. Your body and mind can then rest easier since you have taken care of everyone that you care about.
Wrap your Gifts Early…
You brought your gifts early, now you must wrap them. Make it a point to wrap Christmas gifts in advance. Do this to save on time wrapping them during the holidays. The earlier you finish, the more time you save.
Write Out your Christmas Cards Early…
Christmas cards are a part of the holiday season. When you write and send a Christmas card you are showing people that you care. Since you are a caring mum, you should write out your Christmas cards in advance. Get the cards online or purchase them from the market. It doesn’t matter when you get them, just make sure it’s before the holidays. By the way, send Christmas cards in advance. Royal Mail will be jammed up during the holidays. Your card might not reach your loved ones if you send them in December.
Tell your Relatives and Friends what you Need for Christmas…
Since you are an expectant mum, you should tell people what you need for your baby. Tell them what they should give you. This helps to avoid problems with returning items on Boxing Day. It will also help you to get the things that you and your little bairn will need once they arrive. You should also tell people about baby clothing, size, and colours. Again, this will help them to purchase items you want for your kiddo.
Prioritise Christmas for your new family…
Don’t try to see everyone during the holidays. This will stress out your body. Also, don’t have everyone play you a visit. When you’re pregnant, your body is more sensitive to stress. Visiting relatives and mates can be stressful. Think about who you want to see the most and who you wouldn’t mind visiting. Then arrange your holiday around these folks. Also, if you fancy a movie or travel to the market; then plan out those outings as well.
Try not to stress…
Finally, mums don’t try to control everything. You can do all the planning you desire and things will still go wrong. This is life. None of us can control everything. Sometimes, you just have to step back and let things happen. It’s okay. Remember, just do what you can early on. This will help you to avoid many problems and keep your Christmas season festive and merry. Happy Christmas to all pregnant mums.
