1. Dino Dump

Dino Dump from Big Potato Games is an exciting and fun game for kids aged six years and up. Based on the classic adult card game, Sh*’thead, the game has been tweaked with a few clever twists.

How To Play:

This game aims to get rid of all your Dino Cards as quickly as possible while trying to sabotage other players. The last player with cards left has to take the forfeit sticker that smells like T-Rex poo!

To play the game, start by:

  • Deal three cards to every player and lay them face-down in a row
  • Provide three more cards to each player and place them facing up on the face-down cards
  • Offer each player three more cards (this becomes their hand)

The game starts with the first player selecting any card they want and placing it on the discard pile. The next player must then play a card that either matches or surpasses the number on the previous card. If a player is unable to play a higher card, they must pick up the entire discard deck.

In addition to the standard number cards, the game also includes Dino Power cards such as ‘Back To One’, ‘4 Or Under’, ‘Can’t See Me’, ‘Burn Deck’ and ‘Switch Direction’. These cards are used to help get rid of your cards faster or to mess with other players.

When the cards in the deck and a player’s hand have been utilized, they can start playing the three that face up in front of them. Once those cards have been exhausted, the player must play the three cards that face down without looking at them.

The game ends when one player has discarded all their cards, with the last player left having to take the smelly dino poo forfeit sticker.

2. Top of the Pops Party Game

Top of the Pops Party Game is a game for 4-20 players aged 14+ that lasts around 20 minutes. It’s a fast-paced battle of musical knowledge where the goal is to test your music knowledge and be crowned Top of the Pops! The game is designed to test your knowledge of the top hits through the decades, from the 1980s to the current chart.

How To Play:

The game requires all players to split up into two teams. Now, it’s time to set the stage. Grab your board buzzer and card and set them up in the centre of the table.

Round 1 – Shout Out Songs: In this round, both teams pick a player to represent them in the buzzer battle. The two players take turns guessing a song from the cards provided in 15 seconds. The player that shouts out the most songs in time wins this round.

Round 2 – Guess The Artist: The winner for round one start by taking 9 artist card from the middle and ensuring the rest of the team doesn’t see them. The player picks 3 artist cards to keep and hands the rest to the opponent. The opponent picks 3 artist cards and discards the rest.

The player then gets their teammates to guess which artist is being represented by saying one word, quoting lyrics or murdering one of their hits on the kazoo! The game has three different rules for each category: “One Word” uses one descriptive word to help guess the artist; “Lyric” requires a song lyric as a clue; and “Kazoo” involves playing one of the artist’s songs on a kazoo.

Guess the artist correctly to claim the card for the team, and any remaining cards are passed to the opposing team. The first team to claim a card from the eight categories, like the 60s, 70s, and All-Time Greats, wins the game.

3. Herd Mentality

Herd Mentality is a fun, fast-paced party game for 4-20 players aged 10+. Be the first to give the same answer as everyone else, or be saddled with the Pink Cow!

How To Play:

Start by building the 3-D cow paddock and fill it with cow tokens. Place the pink cow on top of the tokes. Next, pick someone to be the question wrangler. They will be in charge of reading the questions. Finally, give everyone a pencil and an answer pad. The game is ready to commence!

The question wrangler reads out the questions prompted by the question card. Players will jot down their answers on their pads. Once everyone has written their answers, the question wrangler reads the answer.

If a player’s answer is similar to the majority, they get a cow from the paddock. The player who gets it wrong receives nothing. And if there is a majority tie, no one gets a cow. However, if a player writes an answer that doesn’t match anyone else’s, they must take the pink cow as a punishment. If you got the pink cow in your collection, you could still earn cows but can’t win the game.

The only way to rid yourself of the squeezy pink cow is for another member to write the odd answer in a later round. As soon as this happens, it goes into their collection instead. Continue playing until a player earns eight cows and becomes the ultimate winner.

4. Colour Brain

Colourbrain is an interactive card game that tests your knowledge of colours. The game is for 2-20 players aged 14+ and is played over several rounds. The aim of the game is for players to guess the correct colour from a range of options, with points awarded for correct guesses.

How to play:

Split into 2-4 teams with as many players as you like. Every team is given a set of 11 Colour Cards and a colour capture card. The rest of the question cards are placed in the middle of the table, questions facing up. And the game begins!

The question on the top card is read aloud. Your task is to deduce the corresponding colour(s) the question refers to. For instance, what colour is a ‘Sharon fruit’? The first team to lay their cards face down on the table shouts, “Colourbrain!”

The other teams now will have 15 seconds to play their cards or miss out. This is a rule that keeps the game rolling.

Once all players have placed their cards, it’s time to reveal the answers. Players who correctly identify all colours will earn a point, but only if at least one other player or team answers incorrectly. One point is awarded for each incorrect answer.

In a game with four players, if you’re the only one who answers correctly, you’ll earn 3 points. If all players answer correctly, no points are awarded. Keep track of the score on the provided scorepad, and the first player to reach ten points wins the game.

Don’t worry if you’re behind on the scorepad – the colour capture card can help. This unique card, marked with a Disney Villain, allows the holder to randomly select eight colour cards from the leading player, leaving them with only two cards to play. Use this card strategically, as it can only be played once and only against the leading player.

5. Chicken vs Hotdog

If you’re looking for a hilarious and competitive game, Chicken vs Hotdog is a great choice. This card game pits two teams (or individuals) against each other in a battle of wits and luck. Players take on the role of either chickens or hotdogs and try to outsmart each other by flipping cards over to complete challenges. They must employ strategy and luck to win the game.

How To Play:

To begin the game, teams or players decide which animal they are playing as – the chicken or the hotdog. The challenge card is then turned over, and everyone will secretly bid on whether they think they can complete that round’s challenge successfully or not.

If both players (or teams) bid the same amount, it’s time for Flipperama! Players take turns, with each person having three chances to flip their animal-shaped card, so it lands perfectly balanced on the table to win that round’s challenge. Once a successful flip has been made, players will turn over one of their Character Cards until all 6 have been revealed – this is when someone wins!

6. Sounds Fishy

Sounds Fishy is a fast-paced, wacky party game designed for 4 to 10 players aged 10 and up.

How To Play:

The game begins by popping a few question cards into a dispenser. The team selects a salty sea dog to be the guesser. The guesser then hands one fish to each player that you’re not supposed to show to other players.

All fish should be red herrings apart from the true blue kipper. When ready to cast off, the guesser draws a question card and reads it out loud while holding it with the side showing the correct blue answer facing away for other members to see (except the guesser).

After everyone has seen the question, they have 15 seconds to come up with an answer. This is where the game gets strategic. The red herrings must craft a convincing lie that might deceive the guesser into thinking their answer is correct. The true blue kipper, however, is required to give the answer displayed on the back of the question card but must make it sound as implausible as possible.

The guesser is then tasked with distinguishing fact from fiction. As the game progresses, the guesser goes around the group eliminating who they believe are the red herrings. Each correct identification earns the guesser one point. However, all points are lost if the guesser mistakenly identifies the kipper as a red herring.

The Red Herrings that remain undiscovered by the guesser will score one point for each flipped fish token on the board, even if one of the flipped tokens is the kipper. On the other hand, the kipper, for successfully fooling the guesser, earns a point for every fish token left on the table that hasn’t been flipped, including the kipper itself.

The game repeats, and each player takes on the role of the guesser. At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins.

7. Shoot for the Stars

Shoot for the Stars is a game about guessing as high as you dare! You don’t need to know the exact answer to win, but you must guess the number closest to the answer without going over. Ideal for 2-8 players aged 10 and up.

How To Play:

Shoot for the Stars is a game that combines luck and strategy. Players start by placing their astronaut meeples on the board. During a player’s turn, they take one of the question cards from the deck and read it out loud. Every other player has to guess the answer without going too high.

Whenever a player answers a question, you must decide whether the guess is too high. If the guess is not high, you stick along for the ride. If it’s too high, you win nothing. However, you take all the coins if you make the correct call.

Big Potato Games

8. 3 Wise Words

3 Wise Words is Big Potato’s party game for 2-4 players aged 10 and up. The game is about making your teammate guess the secret word you’re thinking of. To aid them in their quest, you provide three different Clue Words. However, beware!

If the other teams manage to guess any of your Clue Words, they can steal your points. Therefore, it’s essential not to make the Clue Words too obvious but also not too obscure, such that your partner can’t make the connection with the Secret Word.

How To Play:

In 3 Wise Words, you’ll be playing a team of two. Start by handing each team an answer pad and a pencil. Pick a team to go first, and they’ll decide who will be the writer and the guesser.

The guesser closes their eyes. The writer then draws a card from the deck and puts it on the table facing up for the rest of the players to see (except the guesser). The card contains three words which all have something in common. The writer then rolls the dice on the table. The colour on the dice must match one of the wise words on the card. Everyone except the guesser knows what the secret word is.

The writer then has to give three clues (using only words) based on the wise word that matches the colour of the dice. The guesser’s job is to identify the word from the clues given. If the guesser fails, they score zero, while the other team get two points each. However, if they guess it correctly, that’s two points for the team. The game continues until all cards in the deck have been played. The team with the most points wins.
